Super Pita Bakery and Deli will have a fish menu for the nine days.
The fish items on the menu will be produced on meat equipment. If
taken home they should be eaten on meat dishes. The french fries
prepared at the restaurant are meat, not meat equipment.

Alert: Super Pita
Super Pita has opened a meat restaurant, (9806 Hillcroft,
713-723-6400) adjacent to the existing bakery. The bakery products
produced at the bakery remain pareve. As of this writing, all other products prepared by Super Pita are either meat
or have been produced on meat equipment:
- All items containing meat are meat
- The salads are prepared on meat equipment
- French Fries are to be treated as meat
- Falafel should be considered meat equipment

We are working with the owners of Super Pita to produce salads
which are pareve.
If you have any questions regarding the status of any product, please
ask the mashgiach.

Kosher Meat Shortages Ease as Agri, Competitors Step Up Production New
York...by Sara Cohen...The supply of kosher meat and poultry around
the country appears to be improving with the passing of every day,
according to food industry sources. While there are still some spot
shortages here and there, most of the country seems to have supply,
the sources point out. Spokesmen for Agriprocessors indicated that
poultry production is near normal as is the production of deli
products. Agri is also meeting the demand for beef through its plant
in Gordon, Nebraska. Retailers and wholesalers alike also report
stepped-up production by Agri competitors, including Rosenblatt's in
beef and lamb and Empire in fowl...
Update: Pita Pal
Pita Pal products under supervision by the HKA may be purchased at
Kroger, Belden’s, Central Markets, Whole Foods, HEB, and Costco in
Texas, the surrounding states, and all of Costco stores in Mexico.
Products currently include hummus, organic hummus, a variety of
salads, baba gahnoush, falafel, and pita. Pareve unless marked
otherwise. Product has HKA symbol on the label.

Kosher for Passover Milk in Houston
Borden's and Poinsetta brands of white milk will be Kosher for
Passover this year.
The milk will have the expiration date of May 1 and May 2, and will be
available in supermarkets the Wednesday before Passover. P-08 will be
ink jetted next to the expiration date.
All sizes and varieties of Borden's and Poinsetta white milk will be
kosher for Passover.
Strawberry milk, chocolate milk, Half and Half and heavy whipping
cream will NOT be kosher for Passover.

Issue: The Orthodox Union certifies and wholly stands by Solomon's
Ground Buffalo meat and all of Solomon's Finest Glatt Kosher Meats
(fresh and frozen) are Glatt kosher. A limited amount of frozen
non-kosher meat was substituted for kosher meat by an outside
distributor and sold in Solomon's packaging. The non-kosher product is
identifiable by the following:
1) The inner plastic wrap does not contain a plastic OU seal.
2) The meat is on a black Styrofoam tray.

Believe It’s Not Butter! Mediterranean Blend – Light is not kosher
certified. A limited amount of Light product was incorrectly packed in
Regular tubs (identifiable by the green stripe/ribbon on packaging)
which bear the OU-D symbol. The affected product does bear the
correctly labeled Light lid (identifiable by the blue stripe/ribbon on
packaging) and only mismatched product is affected. Corrective action
is being taken. Please note that the Regular (not Light) variety
remains certified OU-D kosher. Consumers spotting the mismatched
